Time Flies, Things Change

The rumors are running rampant, some true, some not so true. Because those of you who use the web site are so special to me, I wanted you know the real deal. I have decided to move back into a single family home in a neighborhood where I can develop friendships of all ages and perhaps become a mentor. I don't see this as unsurmountable challenges as some are saying, but rather opportunities to be more independent, more engaged, healthier and joyful. That's the bottom line. Nothing else needs to be said or speculated. My friends at the Vista will continue to bring me joy when we meet, share new stories and perhaps even travel together!

I hope you have had as much fun reading the Vista Voices View Newsletter as I did creating it. Look for news on my personal 'Storage Wars' of sorts. Currently scheduled at S106 for Sunday, August 1, 2-5pm.

The Vista Voices Calendar will continue to be updated for July and August. So keep both the Vista Voices Calendar and Corporate Calendar handy. Lots of fun events happening in July.

JULY CALENDAR HIGHIGHTS

***Friday, July 3 at 5:00pm in the theater, Resident Richard Blanco is hosting the movie "1776" and Vista Voices us providing the popcorn. Bring your own drink. The movie will have subtitles and an Intermission.

***Saturday, July 4th. Social Center and pool area.The Vista Voices USA birthday celebration. Hot dogs and fixin's. Contact Resident Carolann Blanco for details.

***Saturday, July 10th, 4:00pm.The Vista staff is hosting a USA birthday BBQ cookout. Bethany is the point of contact.

***Friday, July 17, 1:00 pm. Gameroom. Outside vendor Elizabeth is hosting Mary Kay Pampering.

***Thursday, July 23, Lobby, 10:00am - 12:00pm. Outside Vendor Stacy of You Look Beautiful is hosting 'Christmas in July' boutique.

CLUB OR ACTIVITY HIGHLIGHT

This activity is led by resident Roline C., a professional genealogist! She hosts around 10 residents weekly in the Genealogy Club. Some meet as a group of 2-3, others prefer to have one-on-one assistance from Roline in their apartment. Wow! Contact her to start your journey!

Why People Enjoy Studying Their Genealogy?

People want to understand the people, places, and events that shaped their family story.

Questions they ask:

Who were my ancestors?
What countries or cultures did they come from?
How did their experiences shape my family today?
Are there family traits, talents, or traditions that have been passed down?
What health patterns appear across generations?

In many ways, genealogy is not simply about the past. It is about understanding the thread that connects the past, present, and future—and discovering how each person fits into that ongoing story.

July 10, 4:00: Corporate-sponsored "Red, White & Blue BBQ Cookout"

Vista Voices is a resident inititative created when the Founding Resident Board was dissolved in 2025. The purpose of Vista Voices is to identify inclusive activities that allow residents to engage, learn, socialize and grow. Activities and Clubs have developed from a survey of residents conducted ln February 2026. We continue to add to the calendar based on those findings.

We thank the Founders for their guidance and diligence on starting the Vista at Rayzor Ranch on a path to be the best place to live for active, vibrant seniors! And they continue to guide through Vista Voices today. There is truly something for everyone.

LOGO: The centerpiece of the logo, a tree, represents strength, growth, maturity and diversity. The sturdy trunk depicts dual figures, supporting each other with heads upward and arms outstretched to embrace new beginnings.
